Mining Diamonds
Oh, my goodness, another take on tumbling blocks. This one is diamonds within diamonds, and the blocks are huge, 23" x 20". You don't need to make many to have a fun lap quilt. And I can see this in many color-ways to include scrappy.
Of course, you can make this using the Mini Polygon Templates. You will need both sets. The block finishes a quarter the size of the full scale.
Fabric Requirements: Each block uses three fabrics plus the accent. Each block is made from three large pieced diamonds.
· (27) 3" x WOF assorted strips for diamond block borders (2 strips if using prints)
· (Lots) 3" x12" assorted strips for 4-Patch diamonds
· 1-yard accent fabric for setting triangle at top and bottom of quilt (this is also the binding fabric). You can use a combination of fabrics in the same color or not.
· ½ yard or so for the binding
